Wow, Donald Trump must have been one spoiled rotten kid –
the kind you yearn to smack – throwing loud, super-sized temper tantrums whenever
things didn’t go his way.
I presume this is true because The Donald had a
super-lollapalooza of a meltdown when he discovered that, contrary to Donald’s
clearly expressed wishes, Barack Obama had been reelected President.

Tweeting like mad, Trump advocated a march on Washington to
be followed (or was it preceded?) by a revolution that would toss out the will
of the people.
“He lost the popular vote by a lot and won the election," tweeted Trump, who evidently didn't have the final numbers that put Obama ahead in the popular vote, too.
"We should have a revolution in this country!” Trump urged.
I have a feeling that one of the people Trump employs
to keep him out of trouble explained to him what he had just done to his own
legal standing. Personally, I think 18 USC §
2385 is a bad law, but it’s still the
law.

Trump tried to delete his tweets,
which is even more difficult than trying to erase your carved initials from a
school desk, or from a concrete square in the sidewalk. Wake up, Donald. This is the
Internet. Once it’s out there it’s out there, and screen shots, rather like angels and saints, live forever on clouds in Cyberspace.
Do I really think Donald Trump
should go to prison for 20 years? Not really. Especially not under a bad law (imposed, I might add, by Republicans, during
the Cold War red scare.)
But even so, despite my principles, I would really enjoy it if
Trump were arrested, stripped to his skivvies, locked into a set of stocks that have been fastened to the bed of a truck, and then driven from city to city, in front of jeering crowds. Oh, and
citizens would be granted the privilege of banging on the truck with long sticks and throwing rotten eggs.
Just please don’t punish him by shaving off
that comb-over so many of us love to hate.

What is the constitutionality of a law that makes it illegal to do what the founding fathers suggested was civic duty.
The people can not be all, and always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented in proportion to the importance of the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions it is a lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty. We have had 13. states independant 11. years. There has been one rebellion. That comes to one rebellion in a century and a half for each state. What country ever existed a century and a half without a rebellion? And what country can preserve it's liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is it's natural manure. Are you suggesting that we've had an unconstitutional law on the books for more than 50 years? Why not come out and say it, and why not simply advocate repealing the law?
Could it be that one person's injustice is the next man's liberty? And vice versa? Personally, I don't think we've come within a milimeter if tyranny lately.And that therefore, all those who would arm themselves to the teeth and shoot up Washington are thugs.
And furthermore, some parents are a bit concerned about having the so-called tree of liberty watered with the blood of their six year old children.
Incidentally, we've had more than one rebellion. It's just that those rebellions were smaller than the Civil War. We had, for example, the (armed) Whisky Rebellion. And the Draft Riots of the 1860s. And the (armed) Black Panthers. And the 1960s. And the Stonewall Riots. And and the Feminist Revolution. You could look it up.
Were they just or unjust? Did all those folks have a right to pick up a gun and shoot whomever they thought stood in the way of the revolution?
